Brian Snyders, DO
- Surgical Services
Dr. Snyders graduated from Des Moines University in 2003 and completed his residency in 2006 and opened Prairie Family Medicine in July of 2007. Dr. Snyders is board certified and specializes in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. He is passionate about caring for children living with cancer and those with special needs.
William Sammond, MD
- General Medicine
Dr. Sammond is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, with over 37 years of practice. He will provide General Medicine care to adult patients over the age of 16. Dr. Sammond joins Prairie Family Medicine, carrying a particular passion for delivering excellent patient care. In his free time, Dr. Sammond enjoys oil painting, golfing, and reading. He is now accepting Monday and Wednesday appointments.
Stephen Smiley, MD
- General Medicine
Dr. Smiley obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington before pursuing a career in National Defense, working for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. for five years. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 2018 and became board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Smiley enjoys competing in triathlons and spending time with his wife outdoors.

Patty Woods, FNP-BC
- Family Medicine
Patty is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2021. Prior to earning her Master’s degree, she worked in Emergency nursing for 5 years. Her passion for nursing began after caring for her son for 15 years. She returned to school to pursue a nursing degree after his passing, motivated by the excellent care he received by professionals that saw him as more than a patient but as a person who loved life. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family including her grandchildren and her crazy Goldendoodles. Patty is primarily working at our Curbside Care Station as a front-line provider treating patients with potentially infectious symptoms. She sees patients of all ages.
Doug Duncan, PA-C
- Family Practice
Doug attended the University of Oklahoma’s Physician Assistant Program where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction as Physician Associate in 1994. He served in the Armed Forces as a Physician Assistant from until 2008 when he entered the civilian healthcare community. Doug joined PFM in 2012 and specializes in primary care.
Rachel Pierson, PA-C
Rachel is a board-certified Physician Assistant with a specialty in Pediatrics. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Medical Microbiology from the University of Wyoming. She then spent several years working in the clinical lab at Children's Hospital of Colorado which helped her to develop a passion to work with children. She went back to school and graduated in 2010 with a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado - Aurora. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
Jessica Lujan, NP-C
- Family Nurse Practitioner
Jessica Lujan is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Maryville University in 2019. Since then she has been working in family practice and is passionate about blending natural and allopathic medicine for a more holistic approach to healthcare. She also greatly enjoys women's health and working with young children. Previous to graduating in 2019 she worked in a variety of ER settings for approximately 10 years. Outside of her career she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.
Janet Gourley, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Janet Gourley is Board Certified in Geriatric and Adult Psychiatric Medicine. She has practiced Psychiatry for over 30 years and has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of major mental illnesses. She joined Prairie Family Medicine in 2011. She is an RN graduate of LAC/USC School of Nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She has a Master of Science in Nursing degree, and post graduate certificates, as a Psychiatric, Adult, and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner from California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Gourley earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Jonathan Henzel, PMHNP-BC

Jonathan Henzel is a board-certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2021 and had been working as an inpatient nurse at a psychiatric hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, prior to joining PFM. Before entering into healthcare, Jonathan spent years in academia researching foundational cellular and molecular biology mechanisms along with genetics that has provided a strong basis for understanding complex psychiatric conditions and the medications used in behavioral health. Jonathan is looking forward to taking on new patients.
Robert Leeth, PMHNP-BC
- Pediatric and Adolescent Mental and Behavioral Health
Before moving out of the area, Rob Leeth was a former family medicine nurse practitioner at Prairie Family Medicine. Since that time, he completed his Psychiatric/Mental Health training and has been practicing pediatric and adolescent psychiatry for the past several years. We are very excited to have Rob back at Prairie Family Medicine. He will begin seeing pediatric and adolescent mental health patients in July.
